CASP is fueled by a vibrant community of artists, makers, and supporters who come together to create, collaborate, and celebrate the arts in Lubbock.

The Charles Adams Studio Project provides the Lubbock community opportunities to engage with art, artists, and the art-making process. CASP programming offers the public a window into processes they might otherwise never have the opportunity to enjoy.

West Texas Art Fest

Since 2021 CASP has welcomed 100+ local high school students to the Helen DeVitt Jones Print studio to learn more about the process of printmaking. This exciting collaboration with surrounding school districts and other community partners offers students the opportunity to experience printmaking on a scale that would not have been possible inside of their classrooms.

CASP on the GO

CASP not only hosts workshops in our public studio spaces, but we also bring our equipment and instructors into the community to connect with those who may not have the chance to visit our downtown facilities. Whether it’s creating personalized cards or stamping coasters, CASP is fostering a vibrant community of art enthusiasts across all corners of Lubbock.

Holiday Cards

CASP is proud to partner with local non-profit organizations Meals on Wheels and Volunteer Center of Lubbock to create cards for holiday meal deliveries each year. CASP prints hundreds of cards in the Helen DeVitt Jones Print Studio for community volunteers to write personalized messages to spread holiday cheer in the annual secret santa packages delivered to meals on wheels recipients.

Public Art

CASP Director Chad Plunket teaches Special Problems in Architecture (ARCH 5301) at the Texas Tech University: Huckabee College of Architecture. During the course, Plunket guides students through the process of designing, presenting, fabricating, and installing public art. These permanent student works are installed at Covenant Hospital for patients, families, and staff to enjoy.

University Collaboration

Alongside our collaboration with the Huckabee College of Architecture, CASP is proud to collaborate with many other schools at Texas Tech University including the School of Art, School of Theatre and Dance, and the Fashion Design and Marketing department. Additionally, CASP offers programming to other local institutions Lubbock Christian University and South Plains College. These collaborations include hosting MFA thesis exhibitions in 5&J Gallery, offering internships for course credit, hosting student groups during First Friday Art Trail, and so much more!

Project Hype

CASP is proud to host high school juniors involved in Project HYPE each Fall. This Volunteer Center of Lubbock program encourages young people to explore their leadership potential and understand the importance of service. We love taking part in developing the leadership and teamwork skills in these amazing young people.
