Apply to be a Live/Work Resident at CASP

CASP is currently seeking applicants for residency opportunities at CASP Live/Work Studios. Located in the heart of the Lubbock Cultural Arts District, the Live/Work Studios are spaces to create, exhibit, and sell work, as well as provide opportunities to engage the community with open studio hours, workshops, demonstrations, and exhibitions. The Live/Work Studios are open to artists working in a variety of mediums, including visual, performing, and literary arts.

Resident Requirements

  • Maintain weekly open studio hours
  • Participate in the First Friday Art Trail (6pm – 9pm on the first Friday of each month)
  • Reside in the studio
  • Be a working artist not currently enrolled in a university/college degree program.

LIVE / WORK STUDIO DESCRIPTION

The CASP Live/Work Studios offer artists the opportunity to live and work in the heart of the Lubbock Cultural Arts District at affordable rates. Each Live/Work Studio includes a personal residence and a 1,100 sq. ft. adjacent studio and exhibition space. The 500 sq. ft. living area includes a kitchen with refrigerator, stove, cabinet storage, bathroom/shower, laundry washer and dryer, patio yard and secured, covered parking, and a bedroom/living room area.

The Live/Work Studios are available to rent with a yearly lease commitment for up to 2 years. Rent is $700.00 per month for the term of the lease. Residents are responsible for the internet, electricity, and gas bills. CASP is responsible for the water bill. Utilities typically average $100.00 – $150.00 per month. A $500.00 deposit is required at the time of lease signing. Residents are responsible for returning the Live/Work Studio to its original condition upon move-out. Deposit funds may be withheld to cover costs of any repairs due to damage incurred during your residency.

    Submit 10 to 15 images of your work as a single document (PowerPoint is preferred). Include title, medium, date, and size for each image on the same page. Do not upload the images as individual files (2mb limit).

    Please upload your samples to a popular streaming service like Soundcloud, YouTube, or similar, and include the URLs below. Be sure to include title, date, and musical credits.
