Tabasom Marandiz (July '26 – Current)

"My favorite thing about CASP is the sense of community it’s given me. I’ve met so many artists from different backgrounds and have learned something from every person I’ve connected with. Participating in the First Friday Art Trail has opened so many avenues and opportunities for me that I never imagined I’d have."

Based in Lubbock, Texas, Tabasom Marandiz is an artist that received her BFA in painting from Texas Tech in 2025. Specializing in watercolor, she creates paintings with themes that revolve around nostalgia, such as her personal memory, her identity as an Iranian American, and contemporary culture. She believes that the translucent, fluid quality of watercolor helps create a memory-like quality in her pieces, which supports the theme of nostalgia in her work.
