Intro to Metal Casting: Aluminum Pours


Date: Saturdays – July 10, 17, 24, 31

Time: 1:00 PM-4:00 PM

Instructors: Chad Plunket, MFA, Zach Morriss, MFA, and Nathalie Lawrence, MFA

Location: CASP Foundry at The CH Foundation Metals Studio; behind the Studios at 1106 5th Street.

Class Description:  Students will learn a variety of mold-making techniques to be able to make aluminum objects and/or sculptures. Techniques to be explored include sand molds, burnouts, and more!

Additional Information: Students will provide and wear appropriate attire which includes long pants and closed toe shoes, preferably boots. CASP provides welding helmets, welding jackets, and safety equipment, such as glasses and hearing protection. CASP can provide some gloves but students are encouraged to bring their own gloves that provide a more adequate fit.
