WORK STUDIOS: A place to create and engage with the CASP community.

The eight studios are constructed behind the 5&J Gallery. Each offers 800 sqft of studio space and a half bathroom to the artists and artists collectives that create inside. The flexible design of the space provides artists with a blank canvas to create, share, and exhibit work through monthly First Friday Art Trail events, open studio hours, and other community engagement opportunities.

Residences in these long-term studios are open to recent university level graduates and professional artists. If you are interested in applying please visit our opportunities page.

CASP is an important organization because they provide a collective space for local artists to create, expand their craft, and connect with the community through their art.

Engaging with the Lubbock community downtown has been critical in reaching FDT's longstanding goal of making original dance and dance education accessible to everyone in our community.

CASP has provided the resources and flexibility needed to foster creativity and collaboration. By utilizing Studio C as a modular space, we can adapt it for exhibitions, performances, markets, and creative workspaces. CASP has given us a platform to grow as a collective and engage with the local art scene in meaningful ways.

CASP is an important organization because they have been the lynchpin in reviving downtown Lubbock and the establishment of hundreds of small businesses, from handicrafts and food trucks to locally-roasted coffee and haute cuisine.

My time at CASP has helped me because it has provided opportunities to showcase my creativity, connect with other artists, and develop confidence in my performance skills. The supportive environment encourages growth and artistic expression.

The WTDR Dance CompanyStudio E

My time at CASP has helped us to reach a wide array of people and introduce them not only to our own art, but other small artists as well as allowed up to create and grow our own pockets of community. We've been able to start art markets to provide opportunities to other small artists to begin their journey, provide a platform to connect the outliers of the community, and provide a welcoming space for those that may not have had one.

Sam GaitanStudio F

I remember the days of the Art Trail before CASP where two dozen artists and students would malinger in a handful of quiet galleries, insulated and navel-gazing, fleeing the region for studio spaces and opportunities for growth. Today with the support of visionary philanthropists, CASP has established a remarkable opportunity for resident artists to pursue their artistic and commercial endeavors as they transition from civilian or student life and make their splash in the local idea and fiscal economy.
