Sean W Scully

Sean W Scully is an artist and engineer excited to share the vocabulary and fascinating world of maker technology with the world. He enjoys creating interactive installations where the public can experience Jurassic technology from landline phones to typewriters.

When he is not writing wordsearch books, hammering at his jeweler’s bench or hacking away at his electronics worktable, Sean is running the Makerspace at Texas Tech and spending time with his favorite person Lisa and their two rambunctious puppies.

CASP is an important organization because they have been the lynchpin in reviving downtown Lubbock and the establishment of hundreds of small businesses, from handicrafts and food trucks to locally-roasted coffee and haute cuisine. I remember the days of the Art Trail before CASP where two dozen artists and students would malinger in a handful of quiet galleries, insulated and navel-gazing, fleeing the region for studio spaces and opportunities for growth. Today with the support of visionary philanthropists, CASP has established a remarkable opportunity for resident artists to pursue their artistic and commercial endeavors as they transition from civilian or student life and make their splash in the local idea and fiscal economy.
